Studio Culture | Ep.6 License – Wendy Teo

For a long time, architect’s registration is being regarded as a key professional milestone for most architecture students, fresh graduates and practitioners. In countering with globalization, BIM, global challenges and technological advancement, the scope and understanding of architectural practice diversified in recent decades, so is the career path of architectural practitioner. Even though the process or outcome as a result of diversification of architectural practices are being captured as key subjects of the construction industry, the development is yet to be reflected in the suggested education/career path by most professional regulating bodies around south east Asia.

In the first part of this upcoming lecture, Wendy Teo will share her journey in the view of professional registration: her part I –Bachelor degree (Taiwan), part II –Master degree (UK), and then part III – practice and registration (UK). In the second part of this lecture, Wendy will share her recent conversation reflecting upon the transition with her architectural practitioners around south east Asia as follows.

Hi everyone! Continuing the preceding lectures on Studio Culture, the sixth lecture will be delivered by Wendy Teo. She is a UK ARB/RIBA Chartered Architect, Curator, Researcher and Tutor that seeing embedding social-culture dialogue in forming architecture as her ultimate pursuit. Her works has been translated into varied medium and scale throughout her commitment with Foster and Partners, Divooe Zein Atelier, Borneo Art Collective, Taiwan Architect Magazine, CanopyU and a number of workshop tutorship, one of the notable one is 2013/14 Archilab exhibition.
