For a long time, architect’s registration is being regarded as a key professional milestone for most architecture students, fresh graduates and practitioners. In countering with globalisation, BIM, global challenges and technological advancement, the scope and understanding of architectural practice diversified in recent decades, so is the career path of architectural practitioner. Even though the process or outcome as a result of diversification of architectural practices are being captured as key subjects of the construction industry, the development is yet to be reflected in the suggested education/career path by most professional regulating bodies around south east Asia.

In the first part of this upcoming lecture, Wendy Teo will share her journey in the view of professional registration: her part I –Bachelor degree (Taiwan), part II –Master degree (UK), and then part III – practice and registration (UK). In the second part of this lecture, Wendy will share her recent conversation reflecting upon the transition with her architectural practitioners around south east Asia as follows.
